8月15日の終戦記念日、そして盆の期間中に隅田川の灯籠流しを見に行ってきました。
あまり綺麗に川の上に広がっていきませんでしたが、風情は伝わるかと思います。
浅草のこれまであまり撮影してこなかった部分もすこし加えてあります。
隅田川は灯籠流しをするにはすこし大きすぎるのかなとは思いました。
人が多すぎて移動も撮影も大変でしたが、盆の雰囲気を味わうには良い体験でした。


On August 15th,a sort of event 灯籠流し(Tohro Nagashi) was held beside Sumida river.
In this event,paper lanterns are put onto and they float on the river.
These days,we had Bon 盆season and we believe that during this season,souls of our ancestors annually return to our living world.
Those lanterns are regarded as signs to show where we are to our ancestors.
In this event,lanterns are put onto the river but in some of events which are held in other part of Japan,lanterns don't float on water,sometimes are put near tombs of ancestors.
I can't explain the differences between those customs but it is certain that using lanterns in Bon events is so important.
It was so difficult to shoot lanterns clearly because spaces are extremely limited,where we could enter and lanterns did not spread widely over the river as we had expected.
And lights of candles inside didn't remain so long.
